Summer 2024

Interned with a renewable energy law firm specializing in the utility-scale solar industry. Researched U.S. policies affecting the importation of solar modules, with a particular focus on the Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duties (AD/CVD) relating to the Auxin Solar case before the International Trade Commission (ITC). This involved analyzing complex policy frameworks and regulatory changes to provide insights for strategic decision-making for the firm’s clients. Conducted comprehensive market research on solar Operations & Maintenance (O&M) industrial contractors actively servicing utility- scale solar and battery energy storage facilities. This research was instrumental in developing a targeted marketing strategy, which has been implemented to enhance the firm’s competitive positioning in the solar O&M sector.

Fall 2023 - Present

Representing Howard University at Model United Nations conferences, contributing to delegations to advance policy initiatives relating to global issues such as climate change, immigration, gender equality and famine.

Developing a comprehensive understanding of global affairs, fostering a nuanced approach to international relations through researching, drafting and presenting resolutions, honing diplomacy skills, and effectively advocating on behalf of select nations (Afghanistan, Eritrea, Ecuador) in simulated UN General Assembly conferences. Awarded "Distinguished Delegation" representing Afghanistan on issues concerning climate change.

Summer 2023 - Present (Financial Aid Sub Department Team Lead)

Leading a team of student advocates on financial aid and academic affairs within HUSA, championing initiatives to address student financial and academic concerns. Utilizing effective communication strategies, including social media and informational sessions, to inform students about financial aid changes and resources. Collaborating with university administrators to present student perspectives and data, driving improvements in financial aid services and academic affairs. Producing and directing video content used by HUSA to advise students of the University's code of conduct in advance of Homecoming. Supporting administrative needs of the HUSA team. Awarded “Behind the Scenes Hero” award for helping team through communication issues within sub departments. 

National Advocacy  Institute, Summers 2020 and 2021

Participated in the ACLU's National Advocacy Institute, engaging in intensive workshops focused on civil liberties advocacy strategies and legal protections under the U.S. Constitution. Gained hands-on experience in crafting effective advocacy campaigns aimed at protecting and advancing human rights and civil liberties. Developed a deep understanding of ACLU's pivotal role in challenging injustices and driving social change through legal and public advocacy.
